October outing report - Allatoona 2014

Posted by robertgates on Oct 19 2014 - 4:03pm
The troop had a great weekend camping at Allatoona this weekend.  We had 60 scouts, leaders, Webolos, and Webelos parents up for the weekend.
There was instruction on leave no trace, knots, what to take on a hike, setting up tarps, and fire building.  Also a hike along the lake before lunch.  After lunch we had duct tape challenges.  First build a bucket to transport water.  Second build a boat for target practice. We finished with extensive bombardment of the boats from the shore.
Later in the afternoon there was hammock time and time spent at the knife throwing range.  We finished the day with a rousing campfire, flag retirement, and cobbler.
