Welcome to the website of Troop 525 in Peachtree Corners, GA! Chartered with eight boys in August 1984 Troop 525 is boy-led and each is required to hold leadership positions as he advances in rank. The troop meets each Monday night, while school is in session, beginning at 7:30 PM at Simpsonwood United Methodist Church (SUMC) 4500 Jones Bridge Circle, Peachtree Corners, GA 30092. This site contains information for the scouts, parents, members and volunteers of our troop. Visitors are always welcome. Come join us!

Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade can join the Boy Scouting program.  Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. For information about Cub Scouts please contact Pack 525 (pack525cubmaster @ gwinnettbsa dot org).

Scouts, Scouters, and Friends of Scouting – On October 11 at Simpsonwood United Methodist Church, Troop 525, guests and friends will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Scouting at SUMC.   If you haven’t already marked your calendar for this gala event, please do so now and let us know that you plan to attend.  Dinner will be a grand catered event by Macaroni Grill that you will surely enjoy, and we’ve planned a wonderful program to look back at our past 30 years, with a glimpse into the future of scouting at SUMC.

OCTOBER OUTING – Webelos visitation and Campout at Lake Allatoona

Lake Allatoona AAC CAMP - Should ber a nice fall weekend

The October outing will be the Web II visitation.  Campout is October 17 – 19 at Lake Allatoona.  On Saturday morning scouts will work with the Webelos on their Outdoors badge.   This will include a hike around the peninsula

SEPTEMBER OUTING report - Silver Comet Trail

The troop has great outing this past weekend (9/20 - 9/21) to the Silver Comet trail in West Georgia.  Plans are already being made for a return visit in 2015.  We rode 25 miles from Powder Springs to Rockmart.  Camped in Rockmart then rode another 5 miles to the trailhead on the far side of Rockmart.  There were 17 scouts and 7 leaders along for the ride

SEPTEMBER OUTING - Silver Comet Trail - Registration DEADLINE is 9/15/2014

Registration DEADLINE is 9/15/2014

Come for a biking adventure on the Silver Comet trail.  Our September outing will be biking in Eastern Georgia.  This outing is a SAT and SUN outing.  We depart SUMC on Saturday morning.  Just have to get your bike to the church (maybe ride it??)

Life to Eagle Seminar

If you are a Life Scout or 15 years old, plan to attend the Life to Eagle Seminar On the 15th of September from 6:30 PM to 7:15 PM in the SCout Trailer at SUMC.  The presentation will cover process, paperwork and timeframes for the trek from Life to Eagle.  There will be time for discussion, so come prepared with questions. The meeting is for Scouts and Adults.

Details for the October outing will be coming our shortly.  This is the Webelos visitation outing October 17 - 19.  

If you know any potential scouts that may be interested in joining the troop or seeing what scouts may be like, we can arrange to have them come as a guest.  Please let me know and we can work out the details
